Veronica and Javier’s Las Colinas Mandalay Canals wedding reception at the Venetian Terrace, shot by Dallas wedding photographer Laura Miller.
If you haven’t seen part one of Veronica and Javier’s wedding in the Las Colinas Canals, click here to get in on that!
After their wedding ceremony, we rounded up their immediate family members to speed through their family formal photos so that we could get their relatives inside from the chilly, windy weather. Then we went to get their bridal party photos out in the canals as well as a few photos of the freshly minted newlyweds before heading back inside the for dinner and festivities with all of their loved ones.
The rustic Italian ambiance of the Venetian Terrace didn’t need much adornment, and was accented by simple white hydrangea centerpieces over mirrors with the twinkle of candle light to top it off. After some funny speeches from their bridal party, the night was off to a great start! Veronica and Javier enjoyed their romantic first dance where their smiles just beamed and lit up the room. When they opened the dance floor, I was pretty surprised by Veronica’s dad! He had some mad dancing skills! He was tearing it up all night! The party was hopping and you could tell that everyone was having the best time dancing and chatting with friends! After the cake cutting and bouquet toss, I was able to sneak the couple away for a couple photos at night in the canals. (heck yeah!!) I absolutely LOVE when my awesome couples let me steal them for a little bit to grab some romantic shots during the reception! In what seemed like no time at all, my scheduled time was up, and I left them to continue dancing the night away, with the hum of the music and glow of the party still illuminating the windows of the venue as I walked away. Leaving was bittersweet because I had so much fun getting to know Veronica and Javier, but I feel so fortunate to have been their Dallas wedding photographer, and I know that they have many years of happiness ahead of them!
