Jewish wedding in Downtown Dallas at the Belo Mansion with Lupe and Lane as shot by Dallas wedding photographer Laura Miller.
Now that I have a Dallas Wedding photographer blog I am going through all the weddings I’ve shot over the last couple of years and it is so neat to thumb through the images and remember some of these awesome events that I have been lucky enough to be a part of. This particular one was actually a couple of years ago, but I wanted to share it anyway, because I haven’t shared the images with my followers before and enjoyed it so much! I loved Lupe and Lane’s wedding because they were so much fun, their venue was to die for and they had one of my favorite receptions to date! Their wedding was in the Belo Mansion right smack dab in the middle of Downtown Dallas. With views of skyscrapers through skylights, modern sculptures and unique lines throughout the venue, the Belo Mansion is nothing short of swoon worthy!
Lupe and Lane did a fantastic job of combining each of their families by having all of the traditional Jewish wedding customs, garnished with fun Latin wedding influences. For example, right after they crushed the glass and left the ceremony, you were greeted by Mariachis in the cocktail hour! How cool is that? While I shoot lots of amazing Latin events since I live in Texas, at this particular time, this was the only Jewish wedding I had ever shot, so experiencing the customs was new and exciting to me! I hope I get the chance to photograph many more Dallas Jewish weddings. My favorite part was the Ketubah, a Jewish wedding contract. Lupe and Lane’s Ketubah was a true work of art with intricate cut paper over watercolor to reveal a beautiful picture of peacocks since they had peacock feathers through their event. The emotion in the room when they were going over the contract was beautiful, and I’m pretty sure everyone cried at some point!
After their ceremony and cocktail hour, everyone was whisked into their reception where Lane romantically surprised Lupe with a song he composed on the piano before their wedding band, Emerald City rocked the flippin house!! Any time I hear that I get to be the Dallas wedding photographer for a wedding where Emerald City will be, I get extra pumped. No one stays at their table when Emerald City is playing, because they are all on the dance floor!
Here are some photos of Lupe and Lane’s mixed cultural wedding and rocking reception at the Belo Mansion!
